I qualified as a Primary teacher in 1977 and taught for 5 years.

​

After exchanging teaching for various other successful business enterprises in Akaroa, I returned to teaching and discovered the Montessori Philosophy.

​

In 1991 I completed my Early Childhood Qualification and operated a preschool in Akaroa until 1997.

​

Before Opening Airdmhor Montessori in 1999, I completed my Early Childhood Bachelor Degree and the M.W.E.I Montessori Primary Diploma.

​

I am a trustee of the Aperfield Trust. The Aperfield Montessori Early Childhood Diploma course was administered by the Aperfield Trust until it was sold to Te Rito Maioha. They now provide the course and the role of the Trust now is offering scholarships for the Montessori component of the course.

I am committed to working with children in a Montessori way and to our philosophy of helping children to “adjust their sails to always reach their destination.”
